Breaking Down Our Latest Vinyl Wrap Creation: Emporium Pies

At SkinzWraps, Inc. we love the fall season because that’s the time when some of the best foods and desserts hit the table. So, when Emporium Pies asked us to create a wrap for their business’ vehicle, how could we say no!?

We put our vinyl wrap experience to the test and helped create an elegant yet eye catching design that is sure to put Emporium Pies on the map in Dallas!

Meet Emporium Pies

Emporium Pies states that they create “fine pies, for fine folk,” and we couldn’t agree more! They are a Dallas-based pie shop that offers both in-store purchases as well as delivery options.

Emporium Pies offers handmade pies made from high quality ingredients that change to match the best tastes of the season.

With a great reputation and delivery requirements on the table, it only makes sense that a vehicle wrap would be their next steps towards success during a busy holiday season.

What Did We Create?

Emporium Pies Wrapped CarEmporium Pies has locations in Deep Ellum, Oak Cliff, and McKinney, so we wanted to make sure that their message was seen throughout their deliveries in the surrounding areas of their shops.

Eye Popping Color Scheme

Color and design are the key ways to get a car wrap noticed. When we think pies, we think of the vibrant colors that come from the fruits and ingredients beneath the crust. So, we kept our wrap at that basic, colorful idea.

Using a white background, the vibrant colors of the floral design attract the attention of passerby to the vehicle. From there, viewers should easily catch the beautiful, golden, Emporium Pies logo that ties in the meaning of this gorgeous van wrap job.

Easy Information

We’ve found that with business wraps, it’s best to keep the verbiage to a minimum and only include essential information on the wrap. For Emporium Pies, we strategically placed their website on the back and sides of the van, as well as a quick call-to-action that could literally mean “follow me” to pies or to look them up on social media. Either way, we feel like we were able to knock out two birds with one, elegant stone and present an actionable message that hits passerby at a glance.

Logo Design Tips That Boost Your Vinyl Wrap’s Value

One of the most important things that a business can create is a logo that sums up what their brand is all about at a glance. Your logo should be something you can place anywhere. From your website to stickers you pass out as a promotional act.

However, your fleet vehicles are your best bet for getting your business’ logo out into the real world as free advertising. If you’re out to design a logo for your brand, make sure it goes well with your vehicle wrap design.

Follow these tips to help your logo and vinyl wrap become the perfect fit for each other.

Contrast Your Colors With Your Car Wrap

As we’ve mentioned before, your car wrap is an effective way to advertise your business on-the-go. Your car wrap is designed to be seen from a distance, so you’ll want your logo to stick out like a sore thumb.

One of the easiest ways to do so is to already know what the colors of your wrap will be and design your logo to contrast with them. Some examples of contrasting colors are the following:

  • Red over White
  • Blue over Yellow
  • Green over Purple

Your wrap design team will be able to help you ensure that your car wrap and logo both stand out amongst the crowd.

Do Your Logo’s Colors Represent Your Brand’s Personality?

As car wrap professionals, we know how important coloring can be when it comes to putting a personality on full display. Your logo’s design is no different. When creating your logo and your vehicle wrap, make sure that your design is colored to match what your brand represents.

For example, if you are a cake decorator, you’ll want colors that evoke celebration. So, bright tones like pink, light blue, and white could be great choices to bring out your brand’s personality at a glance.

Consult With a Professional

Sometimes, business owners have so many ideas for a logo in their mind that they can’t select just one. This is a great example when one should consult with a professional design team.

Not only can they help you design your wrap with our hands-on approach, but they should even have the technology available to show you how the finished product will look before it’s placed on your car on a semi-permanent wrap.

SkinzWraps Got Dizzi This Summer With A Trailer Wrap!

No Dallas resident can deny that it’s been one of the hottest summers to date. Fortunately, for the team at SkinzWraps, Inc. we had the opportunity to work with a company that is dedicated to keeping its patrons cool during their hours of operations.

We’ve put together a large, gorgeous trailer wrap for the local spiked ice-cream company, DizziBrands. Come with us and find out more about this tipsy trailer and why we loved every minute of the work we performed on it.

About DizziBrands

Do you like ice cream? Do you like alcohol? How about a mix of both?! At DizziBrands, they understand that just because we grow up, doesn’t mean we still can’t enjoy the treats of our childhoods with an adult twist.

According to their site, DizziBrands crafts premium small-batched lickable liquors in the forms of:

  • Ice Cream
  • Sorbets
  • Cupcakes
  • Frozen Pops
  • Brownies
  • Gummies, and
  • Gelatin Shots

All of their flavors are inspired by expert mixologists, so it’s no surprise that their adult treats are so sought after in the Dallas area.

How SkinzWraps, Inc. Brought the Bad and Boozy!

With such a hip brand on our hands, we knew that we had to bring a trailer wrap design that was simple, yet loud enough for audiences to be interested in it.

We started by looking at the colors represented by the company itself. Their primary colors were navy blue and white. While this is something we definitely ran with, we also thought to take advantage of their colorful imagery boasted on their social media and product pages. When you see the DizziBrands trailer drive by, you’ll also get a closer look at the vibrant products they offer from their Dallas location

Finally, what would a DizziBrands vehicle wrap be without their trademark logo and “Liq Me” slogan?! We made these aspects of the wrap stand out and positioned them strategically. This was done so when the eye notices them, customers also see how to follow DizziBrands on social media and how to contact them for catering.

Keep Your Commercial Vehicle Wrap Clean and Clear

Many people are taking advantage of vehicle wraps to make their cars, trailers, and boats stand out amongst the crowd. From vibrant colors to intricate designs, there seems to be no end to how one can create a wrap for their car that catches the eye.

But if you are a business owner with a commercial fleet, you may want to think of a more straightforward wrap to promote your brand. Here is everything you need to know about when it comes to creating a commercial fleet wrap design that pops and creates sales.

Put Your Business’ Name in the Spotlight

Your business’ name should be the face of your commercial wrap. The goal of the size and positioning of your brand name is to make the drive-by a memorable one for potential customers.

When designing your vinyl wrap, make sure you are keeping your color coordination in mind. The last thing you need is your brand name to blend into the background of your wrap’s colors. Make sure that your name sticks out and is the first thing that people recognize about your vehicle. Flashy colors may attract attention, but your name is what they’ll remember.

Advertise Your Specialty

The goal of a commercial wrap is to keep it simple. This means that advertising your business’ specialty doesn’t have to take many words to get the point across. For example, if you are a food truck that sells Mexican food, underneath or near your brand name highlight some of the specials you have on sale (i.e. Fresh Tacos & Burritos).

Potential customers only have so much time to take in your message, so make sure that by the time you’ve driven by, they have an idea of what your business is all about.

Make Your Logo Memorable

Some customers are attracted by a fun logo from the start. Your brand’s logo could be an excellent entry point to someone recognizing your business. This visual aid adds character and helps audiences remember your vehicle. If possible, ensure that your logo properly represents your services and/or a specific aspect of your business.

Don’t Forget Your Contact Info!

Finally, give your customers an easy way to contact your business if they need your services. When designing your custom wrap, don’t forget to add a phone number or website that people can quickly point out. Make this a large part of your design. Our tip is to make your contact info slightly smaller than your business’ name, but larger than any other text on the ad.

Client Spotlight: Trinity River Distillery Car Wraps

At SkinzWraps we have the pleasure of wrapping vehicles of some of the Dallas Metroplex’s most loved and respected companies. It’s always exciting for us to come up with a creative design for a unique brand’s car wrap project. No two clients are the same and our creativity has to be fresh for every client we serve. We’re highlighting one of our recent wraps done for the increasingly popular Trinity River Distillery located in Fort Worth.Trinity River Distillery Van Wrap Dallas

Vehicle Wraps for the Distillery

The Trinity River Distillery was started in 2011 by Navy veterans Don and Ben Alexander. Along with their third business partner, Mark Lusignan, they started their business in Fort Worth. The business set up shop at the historic Texas Landmark, Ranch Style Beans Plant. The plant was built in 1913 and is located southeast of downtown Fort Worth. The distillery makes their whiskey with pure Texas rainwater collected through a complex harvesting system. Given the nature of the business, the Trinity River Distillery vehicle wraps needed to reflect their brand and unique Texas aesthetic.

Creating a Custom Card Wrap

We’re no strangers to creating vinyl wraps for brands looking to use their company cars for advertising as well as transportation. To create brand awareness for the Trinity River Distillery, we wrapped 4 of their vehicles with custom designed vinyl wrap that were designed in house! We used their brand logo and colors combined with interesting artistic features like a map outline of the state and a falling rain effect to highlight how their whiskey is made. We wrapped a Ford F250, Toyota Tacoma, Porsche Macan, and Mercedes Sprinter. Each vehicle received its own distinct 3m vinyl car wrap.Porsche Dallas Car Wrap Trinity Star Distillery

Designing Custom Wall Mural Wraps

In addition to their fleet of vehicles, Trinity River Distillery asked us to create wall murals for their offices. We set to work coming up with ideas and designs that matched their brand and the look they were going for. The designs we put together were several black and white photos of their whiskey and brand logos.

Tips for Making Sure Your Vehicle Wrap is What You Want

One of the benefits of vehicle wraps is that they’re not permanent like regular vehicle paint and may be changed at any time to update information or the design on the vehicle. However, it’s still important to take specific steps to ensure the finished car or truck wrap is exactly what you want.

If you take care of your wrap as recommended by SkinzWraps, you can enjoy the wrap for as long as you would a regular paint job. Getting a wrap that you are completely pleased with means working with a team experienced in applying vinyl wraps, as well as with a company that allows you to work with graphic artists on the initial design idea.

Here are a few rules and recommendations you may wish to consider as you design an effective vinyl wrap for your company fleet (even if your fleet is just a single vehicle!).

Don’t Confuse Onlookers with Obscure Images

Imagine you’re a plumber and you own a van that’s filled with your business tools. Each time you visit a customer, you can advertise with your van when it’s out on the street and parked in front of your client’s house. The most important consideration is making sure the finished wrap design is simple and clear. You don’t want customers wondering what in the world you’re selling.

If you’re a plumber, make sure people know you’re a plumber. If you’re a food caterer, make sure people know your delivery truck holds delicious food. If you use a graphic of something that’s representative of your trade, make sure that image is easy to understand and matches the tone and reputation of your business.

Make Sure the Information is Readable within Seconds

One of the reasons marketing experts recommend that business owners use vinyl wraps and graphics on their company vehicles is because of the exceptional value in mobile advertising offered with vehicle wraps. However, it’s easy to squander this opportunity if you use images that are confusing or you try to put too much information on your vehicle.

Avoid complex lists of items and focus on the name and contact information for your business or organization. People who see your vehicle on the street for a few seconds aren’t going to remember a five-point bullet list of services you provide. They will remember a few keywords like “caterer,” “plumber,” or “document shredding.”

Stand Out Without Being GarishLiberty Building Technologies Truck Wrap and Car Graphics by SkinzWraps

Covering a company car in a few garish colors to make sure people notice it right away might get your business some initial attention, but you might not gain many followers or fans with an eye-sore for a company vehicle. Car wrapping offers a wealth of benefits, from mobile advertising to protection of the vehicle exterior, but it’s far too easy to go overboard in the design phase.

Basic Art Guidelines from SkinzWraps

We can create custom car wraps from scratch for your vehicle, and we can also use files that you provide that can give us a starting point for our design work and eventual wrap installation. If phrases like “CMYK Color Mode,” “vector files,” and “file compression” sound like a foreign language to you, you may wish to rely on our artists completely to bring your idea to life.

However, if you have experience with graphics, you may wish to read our art guidelines to ensure the files you send along can be used during the design phase of your vehicle wraps. Do you have questions about our vehicle wraps? Get in touch to see how we can help you create a stand-out vinyl wrap.

Wrapped Fleet Vehicle Checklist

Fleet vehicles come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, and the requirements for those vehicles also vary depending on the number of vehicles in service, the type of vehicles driven, and the style of driving required of those vehicles (long haul versus local).

As you build and maintain your company’s fleet, it’s essential that you keep track of every facet of maintenance from the industry regulations to vinyl wrap advertising opportunities.

Here are the three main questions you need to ask when creating your vehicle wrapping checklist.

Are your drivers experienced and legal?

When you interview a potential driver for your fleet, it’s common to ask the future employee if he or she has a legal driver’s license and if they’ve ever been involved in serious accidents. It’s not uncommon for people to lie about their driving record on their resume, particularly if they’re applying for a job that will require time spent behind the wheel of a fleet vehicle.

Conducting a background search may be an action you may wish to take, and you’ll also want to see their driver’s license to check to see if they’ve had any convictions related to driving. Do they have a few outstanding parking tickets, or were they once involved in a drunk driving accident where someone died?

The health of the prospective driver is also an important question (eyesight, physical fitness, health conditions). You may wish to arrange yearly physicals or appointments with a physician for your drivers, particularly if they’re responsible for driving company trucks across the country.

Are your vehicles maintained for mechanical operation and appearance?Delivery Truck Wrap

Creating a schedule for vehicle maintenance and appearance is essential when you’re building any fleet from one company car to a hundred transport vehicles. Each vehicle must have its own maintenance schedule, as well as regular detailing and updated vehicle wrap graphics.

Remember: Your commercial vehicles can reflect positively or negatively on your business depending on their visual condition. Don’t neglect regular wrap detailing because you think that the only part that matters is what’s under the hood.

You may be able to get a discount for your fleet for various maintenance needs if you work with a single shop, or you might need to hire a dedicated staff to take care of various aspects of vehicle maintenance and appearance.

Are your vehicles legal and are your drivers also legal?

Hopefully, you’ve vetted your drivers well enough that you can insure them for driving. Additionally, keeping the vehicles in good, working condition ensures fewer vehicle breakdowns and accidents, as well as lower insurance costs.

Inspecting your vehicle policies from front to back is essential for ensuring that any mishaps that do occur are covered and paid for by your insurance policy. It’s also a good idea to discuss the rules of the road with the drivers. They need to be aware of any driving limits imposed on them (such as a limit on the number of hours driven).
