If you’ve recently gotten a car wrap, you’ve probably taken a million pictures of how awesome your vehicle looks and shared them with friends and family. And who could blame you? Everyday you look forward to getting in your car and driving around in your sleek new ride. But do you know how to maintain your vehicle wrap? Just like any other car, the exterior has to be maintained. At SkinzWraps, we offer vinyl wraps that are made to last. Here are a few tips to help you care for your car wrap.
Avoid Using a Pressure Washer
Pressure washers are used for getting stubborn stains and dirt off of things like sidewalks or decks. They are not meant to be used directly on the surface of your car wrap. We recommend washing with a sponge and mild soapy water. If a pressure washer is your best option, spray your car at a distance as to not destroy the wrap. Never take your car through an automatic car wash with bristles as it cause the wrap to rip or tear.
Always Hand Wax Your Car Wrap
You probably already love spending time working on your car, so our next tip you’ll love- never use a buffer to wax your car. Hand waxing your vehicle is much more gentle on the vinyl wrap. Make sure the wax you use is safe for the vinyl. If you would rather a professional detail your car, make sure you communicate that the wrap is vinyl and needs special care.
